中國最早放映的電影——1896年8月11日法國商人在上海徐園“又一村”茶樓內放映的“西洋影戲”。
中國第一部電影是戲曲片京劇《定軍山》，內有《請纓》、《舞刀》等片斷，1905年（清光緒三十一年），由北京豐泰照相館攝製。無聲片，長約半小時。
