The reason to study XX at University of XX in Canada
Born into the 90's Chinese city of Chengdu, I have grown up in a time of huge economic upheaval. Surrounded by an-ever changing economic environment, I remembered asking my father what exchange rates were. Over the years, my initial childhood curiosity has grown into a passion for economics. As my understanding improved, newspapers and magazines on economics and globalization became my favorite readings. I see economics more like a powerful tool helping us understand the world better. It was no surprise when I chose Economics without hesitation as major at University of XX, which is located next to North America’s busiest international border crossing. Facing one of Canada’s most beautiful waterfronts on the Detroit River, this school is providing a good atmosphere for study. The reason I choose Canada as my study destination is that Canada is one of the world's largest economies.
Moreover, compared with US and Britain, Canada is able to offer international students the first-class education resources with lower expense and Canada is a peaceful, civilized and safe country. It is a good chance to receive high quality education and to experience diverse cultures. Meanwhile learning in a totally new environment to broaden my horizon is very attractive to me, as it will raise new challenges for me to conquer. Compared with somebody holding a Master degree from a Chinese university, a graduate holding one from North America which is not exam-oriented but quality-oriented is much more competitive in China’s labour market.
My overall educational goal
I believe my education at XX School has laid the groundwork towards the path I now intend to embark on. As the curriculum I learned is the same as Canada’s and all our classes are taught in English too. To improve our independency and communication skills, many trips have been included such as travel to Hong Kong, Japan, Korea to our activities. Anyway, first step of my plan is to overcome the language barrier and adjust myself into the new environment, including new teaching methods, cultural differences and enhancing mutual understanding between the Chinese and other people. In addition, the most important thing is to improve my academic ability.
Financial Support
My parents have sufficient funds to support my study in Canada. They are definitely willing and able to afford my education and it will not influence the future life of our family since they both have enough saving, decent jobs and stable incomes. 一、學生情況分析
對於大二數學班的同學，這學期的英語四六級考試，一級班的同學是第二次參加考試，二級班的同學是第三次參加考試。我想大部分英語底子較好的同學基本已經通過了英語四級的考試。剩下的同學可能是英語底子不夠好，或是學習態度不夠端正，以至於至今還沒有通過英語四級考試。所以我想我們面臨的挑戰還是很嚴峻的。
二、四六級試卷分析
試卷總分710分，作文佔總分15%，答題時間30分鐘；快速閱讀佔總分10%，答題時間15分鐘；聽力佔總分35%，答題時間為35分鐘；
短篇選詞閱讀和兩篇仔細閱讀佔總分的25%，答題時間為25分鐘；完形填空佔總分的10%，答題時間為15分鐘；
翻譯佔總分的5%，答題時間為15分鐘。
從中我們能看出，要想答好英語四六級這張捲紙，聽力和閱讀是重中之重。
三、學生不足之處分析
英語成績不理想有很多因素：
1，聽力不好；
2，詞彙量不達到要求；
3，閱讀速度慢；
4，語法掌握不好。
四、提高成績方法
通過試卷分析，我們知道，要想在英語四六級考試中取得好成績，就必須答好聽力和閱讀。但聽力聽不明白，和閱讀詞彙量不足又是我們同學身上常見的缺點。所以對於這兩點不足之處，就一定要儘自己最大的.努力提高。
（1）對於聽力的提高，就要不斷的聽，不斷的磨自己的耳朵。任何事情都沒有捷徑，想
一步登天是不可能的。所以要堅持每天聽聽力。
（2）對於提高閱讀，最重要就是提高自己的詞彙量，每個詞都讀懂了，整篇文章自然就
讀懂了。如何提高詞彙量，是有技巧可循的。我經常看到很多同學拿個詞彙量的小書，從字母A開始，一個一個往下背，字母A背完，背字母B，一隻往下背。也許背到了H或I，就背不下去了，然後回頭看字母A的又忘了一大片。這樣的死記硬背真的是很沒有效果又浪費時間。以我自己的學英語經驗，背單詞一定要在文章裡面背。當我們做一篇閱讀的時候，尤其是真題裡面的閱讀，一定要把閱讀裡面的單詞弄明白，把不會的單詞總結在一起，背下來。背下來並不是就完事了，每天拿出總結的本，開始學英語前，翻看一遍，不斷強化自己的記憶。然後再把以前看過的沒有詞義標記的文章在看一遍，看看背過這篇文章的單詞後，這次你是不是能很輕易的就讀懂了這篇以前不會的文章。用這樣的方法一篇一篇文章的學，一定會有很大的提高的！
五、學習計劃
第一，上自習。想過英語四六級不學習不行。所以必須上自習。希望大二同學能有自己的自習室。
第二，系裡面或以班級為單位要多舉辦幾次模擬考試，一是能讓學生能完整流暢的做下一整套模擬真題，二是能提高同學們的做題速度，同學們也能在一次又一次的模擬考試中找到最適合自己的答題順序等。

1、制定具體的計劃並落實
這是最基本的，也是最重要的。計劃制定了，就得落實。例如，7天內瀏覽完一本書、每天寫篇作文、一個月內啃完英語1000個單詞。
2、聽
1）除週末外，每天晚上10:00——12:00聽寫一篇五分鐘左右的短文。著重聽力後的分析過程。
2）每天一有空閒時間就反覆聽這篇短文，直到聽爛為止。
3）重視精聽，聽無數遍。
4）週末看一部外國電影，複習就內容，檢查一週來的學習計劃執行情況。
3、說
1）朗讀並努力複述聽寫的短文。
2）每天堅持張嘴說，每週參加英語角。
3）注意在朗讀過程中糾正發音。
4、讀
1）每週看一部英文電影。
2）同時也可以像單詞本一樣，準備一本英文小說的口袋本，利用生活中的各種碎片時間，實現英語語篇積累。
3）跟讀假期做聽力練習可以盡情大聲朗讀，不再像在教室裡那樣拘謹。
5、寫
1）爭取把每天聽寫的短文都翻譯，先英漢，再漢英。
2）聽寫可以是聽寫單詞，也可以是與精聽配合，聽寫一些小段落。
3）堅持寫英文日記，可以寫身邊發生的事，也可以寫自己的所見所想，無論什麼，只要拿起筆去記錄。
4）很多同學因為書寫習慣不好，在英語學習上吃了很多虧。也可以有意識的練練字，書寫不必一定要非常精緻，但是一定要工整。
英語學習計劃書
為切實提高本班在6月份的英語四級考試通過率，現依照考試題型分佈，暫作如下學習計劃：
一、寫作
1、為同學提供優秀短文，供其參考。
2、寫作的根基是詞、句，因此，讓同學背誦高階詞彙短語及美句，以提高作文分數。
3、一星期完成作文一篇。
二、聽力
限於上課時間，決定在週日、週一、週三的晚自習抽40分鐘進行聽力訓練。此前，班級已經進行了數次訓練。
三、閱讀理解和完形
這兩個題型的訓練排在一起，進行限時訓練。
四、歷年真題及模擬題
除學院統一安排的6次模擬外，班級會另排時間進行模擬訓練。
五、詞彙
備戰四級，擁有龐大的詞彙量是必不可少的。所以，班級每人手頭必備一本四級詞典。
以上安排是針對班級整體而言，對於個別英語基礎薄弱的同學，進行監督並督促其完成相關的四級內容，例如詞彙記憶、美句背誦等；並對其進行指導，幫忙解決問題。再者，對於每次的模擬考試有進步的同學給予一定的獎勵，相互間形成競爭，提高他們對英語學習的積極性。
當然，上述的安排會依照班級情況及學院計劃作相應的調整。
我們的目標：不能保證100%的通過率，但我們力求100%，相信努力會創造奇蹟。
