翻譯中的“洋味”與“洋腔”

Abstract

With the long term contact between English and Chinese and the introduction of western works, the Chinese language is unavoidably influenced by the English language, and Europeanization is an inevitable result. So far, the discussion on Europeanization has been focused on the advantages and disadvantages of literal and free translation approaches. People who favor literal translation think that it helps to keep alienness and enrich Chinese. Others who favor free translation hold that literal translation leads to translationese. How to strike a balance between literal and free translation, that is, to avoid translationese on the one hand and keep some alienness on the other, has been the focus of debate among translators in China. Against this background, this thesis attempts to find a solution to this long standing problem. First, ways to keep alienness are examined. Then approaches are dealt with as to how to avoid translationese. And finally, suggestions about some concrete methods to achieve the above objectives are offered.

摘  要

隨著英語國家和中國的長期交往以及西方著作的引進,漢語不可避免地受到英語的`影響,漢語歐化也就成為必然的結果。目前翻譯界對漢語歐化現象的討論主要集中在翻譯方法—直譯與意譯的優劣上。贊成直譯的人認為直譯可以保留洋味並能豐富漢語。贊成意譯的人認為直譯容易導致翻譯腔。如何在直譯與意譯之間找到1個平衡點,即在防止翻譯腔的出現的同時又要能恰當地吸收英語中有益的成分來豐富和發展漢語,1直是中國翻譯家所追求的。本文就是在此背景下,試圖找出這個翻譯長期存在的問題。文章首先分析了保留洋味的方法,然後指出如何避免翻譯腔的方法。文章在最後部分提出瞭解決上面所說問題的具體方法。
