在雅思口語的三個部分中關於工作類的話題一直佔據著相當的比例。尤其是對於G類考生來說，被問到關於工作話題的機率會更高。小編將就工作類話題展開詳細的講解。
話題從Part 1的簡單詢問考生的工作經歷和對工作的感受，到Part 2需要考生描述一個有趣的職業或重要的職業，再到Part 3需要考生綜合分析現在年輕人喜歡選擇什麼樣的職業以及為什麼年輕人頻繁換工作等。其實無論是對於A類還是G類考生，關於工作的話題一直都是比較難的。G類考生在經驗方面更勝一籌，然而在語言表達上稍微欠缺;A類考生語言能力稍好一些，而對工作的看法卻鮮少，有些甚至答出一些幼稚的、讓人哭笑不得的答案。比如在課堂上有學生在被問到what's your ideal job?的時候，居然回答My ideal job is no job but have much money, 我們先不論這位學生的語法，但就答案本身而言，我相信考官絕不會苟同。雖然我們提倡學生大膽說、說真話，但是這樣幼稚的答案不會為你掙得分數。

其次，大部分A類考生還未踏出過校園，對一些職業和其特定的職業特點、職責不太瞭解，所以考生們應該多補充一些相關的背景知識，不要到了考試時一問三不知。下面我們來看幾個職位及其職責的描述：
Ø CEO (ChiefExecutive Officer): a CEO hasto supervise and coordinate different parts of theorganization, and of course, to know about what’s going on in each sector. Besides,a CEO has to represent the company in all important decisions.
Ø Finance Manager: a finance manager is often a qualified accountantand a member of the management team, monitoring a company’s financial performance,as well as supervising the budgets for various projects and controlling their costs.
Ø Human Resources Manager: A HR manager’s job is around the development a trainingof the managers inside the organisation, and making sure they do their jobs , a HR manager is responsible for the recruitment of new staff.
除此之外，考生要轉變思維，關於到底什麼樣的工作是你的理想工作，或者什麼樣的工作是好工作，就剛才舉例的答案而言，有錢的工作是好工作我們可以用well-paid來描述，並不是have much money這樣幼稚又業餘的表達;有人認為好的工作應該secure, promising, 有人則認為好工作就是challenging, exciting, 因為一個有挑戰性的工作才會rewarding,worthwhile。當然，公司的待遇也是員工考慮的一方面，比如有沒有paid-leaves, medical insurance, housing benefits, pension, bonus等等。Working space如何，與colleague的關係怎麼樣也都是很多人考慮的因素。所以考生們不要再侷限於幼稚的表達，多積累相關的表達，再加以客觀分析，定能讓考官刮目相看。這裡給大家做一示範：
Money is good, but I want a job which is also rewardingin other ways. It shouldn’t be boring like some other jobs, and there should bealways something unexpected. Thus I’ll feel I am doing something worthwhile.
當然，我們在答題時也要融合一些時代特色。比如隨著經濟的發展，我們的工作和生活節奏都日益加快，導致員工們不得不為heavy work拼命，大部分時間被paper work, computer work所佔據，每天都meet tight deadlines的問題，很少有時間have a day-off, 而變得很容易feel fatigued, frustrated, depressed, 甚至會產生許多與快節奏的工作生活相關的健康問題stress-related illness, 比如high blood pressure, ulcer, fatigue等。對心理的影響也不可避免，比如bad mood, anxiety, low spirit等等。而在論述的時候，我們除了站在自己的角度上來思考問題之外，還可以站在更巨集觀的角度來考慮這些問題，比如談論到對現在工作的看法，我們可以說：
