1.在信中你必須要以一兩句話來表達你為何會對你所應徵的工作感興趣。

4.提供你的若干個人資料，例如年齡、婚姻情況、興趣、種族、你所參與的團體活動等。
5.提供兩三個擔保人的姓名及其電話號碼。他們能夠對你的為人及工作知識有所瞭解，他們最好是你的前房主或以前的老師。
6.表示你很想獲得面試機會，而事實上這也是你寫這封來職信的目的，何不言明，爭取獲得這個機會。如果你前赴面試的時間有所限制，也須於信中說明，但不要把時間限制得太緊。
7.措詞項直接，不要轉彎抹角。要給對方一個印象你所感興趣的是他的公司和他所提供的工作性質，而非你自己的個人興趣。你也須表示禮貌，但不要太過份，更不要表示謙卑。
8.不要為你的技能、經驗過份誇張而使人產生自吹自擂的感覺，也不要過份謙躬、必須有碗講碗、有碟講碟。也不要自稱品學兼優、勤奮好學、工作態度認真等等，這些應該是擔保人說的話，不是你自己說的話。
