1.判斷句子之間的邏輯關係

句子成分間的邏輯關係對解題起著至關重要的作用，它們常常由一些明顯的關鍵詞提示。
最重要的幾種邏輯關係
因果關係：because, in that, for, therefore, thus,accordingly, consequently, hence, given, so…that,so…as to, when…then, as long as, in order to……
轉折關係：albeit, but, although, despite,however, in spite of, nevertheless, notwithstanding, while, whatever, regardless, even though,even if, yet……
對比關係：in contrast, on the contrary, far from, on the other hand, rather than, insteadof, not…but, paradoxically, ironically, surprisingly, unexpectedly……另外還有時間的不同體現相反的關係等等
2.尋找句子內部的重複線索
新GRE填空題的句子常出現陌生的專業術語，晦澀的思想觀點等，但對解題並不構成真正的障礙。因為題目本身往往提供了足夠的內容的重複線索幫助你找到正確的答案。

題目的主幹要我們填Melodramas提供給觀眾一個怎樣的世界，同時又告訴我們它們表現了無辜與罪惡，美德與墮落之間的刻板對立，所以我們不需要知道Melodramas是什麼東東就可以判斷它們提供給觀眾的是一個刻板對立的世界，五個選項中只有E選項“全無中立的世界”表達了這個意思。

這道題粗看起來內容十分專業，空格要求填factors 對such illnesses 有什麼樣的動作。其實句子中有一個明確的重複線索，factors 起到了一個催化劑的作用，所以空格中填入一個表達催化意思的詞語，就一定是正確選項。表示催化的感覺的詞只有D項：precipitate
3.判斷語氣和感情色彩
有時，通過正常的閱讀去理解句子比較難且費時間。但是用感情色彩去判斷，處理起來就變得比較方便。

句子的意思比較令人費解，但是從句末whatever the effects on his subordinates(不管對他的下級產生怎樣的影響)看，我們知道Johnson做的是一件不好的事情。
從第一個空格看，五個選項只有D的scrupled填入表達這樣的意思。
判斷邏輯關係，尋找重複關係，判斷語氣及感情色彩這三步熟練的結合運用，幾乎能解決所有的填空問題。
從一開始做題，就應該養成良好的習慣。按照這三步做，比起直接代選項到題目的好處是能夠有效的避免干擾選項的誤導。
