一、如何快速看懂閱讀並順利找到總點和分論點?
瞭解了總點後要對分點了如指掌並且能夠快速讀完閱讀。在閱讀開始之前的兩句話，之後馬上看開頭段的最後一句話。
舉個例子：many critics argue that ethanol is not a good replacement for gasoline for several reasons. 這個節選自TPO 22閱讀內容的總點句子，很顯然分點解釋了為什麼不能取代的三個緣由：
First,the increased use of ethanol fuel would not help to solve one of the biggest environmental problems caused by gasoline us.
Second, the production of significant amounts of ethanol would dramatically reduce the amount of plants available for uses other than fuel.
Third, ethanol fuel will never be able to compete with gasoline on price.
二、同意理解的必要性
找到相關的總點和分點後，就要注意細節的把握。一般情況下，通過後面的句子的解釋，讀懂要理解的句子的意思。
舉個例子：以上面的TPO 22來說，我們的閱讀筆記要這樣記：1. 導致汙染;2. 減少了cows and chicken的食物來源;3.沒有政府補貼價格會rise。
三、閱讀中的對比要注意
記住你想要的東西，扔掉多餘的。考試中總會有一些干擾因素，你要學會排除。
舉個例子：Fuel-cell engines have several advantages over internal-combustion engines and will probably soon replace them.這個總點與前面的文章不同的是：句子裡顯然是有兩個物件在對比!這個時候要想快速閱讀並理解這篇文章的關鍵就是要在閱讀時眼睛自動刪掉介紹internal-combustion engines的句子內容，因為這個總點的句子主要是介紹Fuel-cell engines, 那麼閱讀的分點筆記就快速找到：1. 容易獲得;2. 環保;3. 便宜實惠。
四、閱讀中的例子要注意
我們在看閱讀時要注意段落裡的連線詞，類似於also, furthermore...以防我們聽力細節的缺失。
舉個例子：There are several reasons why salvage logging is beneficial both to a damaged forest and to the economy.總點已經告訴我們的'是對於森林和經濟帶來好處，那麼考生就要節約時間快速找到對於森林帶來的好處：1. help forest areas recover from the disaster; 2. helps minimize the dangers of insect infestation和經濟的好處。與前面兩個段落內容不同的是：在後面的敘述中，段落裡呈現了兩個例子(the trees that have been damaged by natural disasters still can provide much wood that is usable by industries//helps create additional jobs for local residents)
五、聽力何時開始記筆記
託福烤鴨們是不是都會有這樣一個疑惑?在每一段落的聽力開始部分都是對於閱讀內容的匯入：這樣的話，考生們就要記住每一個段落的開始的匯入不要去記，而是在匯入句之後開始記，尤其是在轉折詞後，如but, yet, actually, in fact, well, unfortunately, however,或舉例之後，如1. Let’s make it explain. 2. How does it work? 3. For example.
六、數字資訊要注意
在聽力細節中數字資訊也是最為重要的，不要遺漏。同樣在TPO 9的綜合寫作聽力細節談及到hydrogen的儲存條件時也提到了數字minus 253 Celsius degree。
1. more trees/ absorb more co2; 2. Main components (cellulose) are not eaten by animals; 3. Subsidy is needed, .... With the growth on the production, the price will drop dramatically, even reduce by 40%.
其實考生很容易做到在綜合寫作方面拿到滿分，關鍵就是要做好筆記，筆記的詳細程度直接影響分數情況，而細節的遺漏與否是否仔細的看閱讀，快速的看閱讀和理解閱讀的論據和點之間的關係又是密切相關的。
